Mendes and Craig back on for Bond 23

Forgetting anything ever happened and just straighten up that tie, Mr. Bond: the next film is back on, or so MGM intends, as the once-financially beleaguered studio has announced the 23rd movie’s going to get rolling toward the end of this year and come out on Nov. 9 2012.

Sam Mendes will direct as initially planned and star Daniel Craig will be back for his third turn as 007.

Let us breathe.

All that freaking out for nothing. The film will come out a year later than initially intended after “Quantum of Solace” released in 2008, but that’s a drop in the bucket. Mendes, albeit without any action credits to his name, will likely continue the harrowing path of the previous two films with some stark imagery no doubt. Perhaps he will still be able to lure some juicy supporting cast members as well.
