Trailer-made Wednesday: “Iron Man 2”
I normally don’t post this much in a day, but Apple has the trailer for the most anticipated movie of next summer, Iron Man 2, which could very well show up in the previews before Avatar, but if not, definitely Sherlock Holmes with RDJ starring in that one too.
All I can say is glorious. I like the narrative approach to begin the teaser followed by great action shots and teases of all the elements in the film. What can we tell about the story? Well, things have gone great for Tony Stark since he outted himself as Iron Man. He makes public appearances in his armor, jokes around with just about everyone and his babe, Pepper Potts (Gwenyth Paltrow) is still into him.
The trailer tells us the most about Mickey Rourke’s character, Ivan Venko aka Whiplash. Why Whiplash? Just watch the thing already and stop reading me ramble. We get that Venko’s on a revenge mission and he could well be in cahoots with Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow character who we don’t see much of in the trailer. He creates his own suit (though we fanboys speculate the one from the trailer is just his beta version) and power cell. Lastly, we get glimpses of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who could be featured more prominently and to cap it all off, Don Cheadle in the suit as War Machine, taking dudes out alongside Tony.
Will the story live up to all the flash-bang? Let’s hope.
