10 Greatest Movie Action Teams

If you’ve followed Hollywood trends this year, you’ve already noticed the inordinate amount of movies centered around an action team. It’s not just “The A-Team” which comes out Friday, but last April’s “The Losers” and this August’s “The Expendables,” which boasts Sylvester Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Jet Li among others. As a result, [...]

On DVD: The Lovely Bones

An indistinctive stew of genres best describes Peter Jackson and Co.’s attempt at adapting the Alice Sebold novel “The Lovely Bones.” Part murder mystery, part family drama and part Salvador Dali painting, the film suffers an epic identity crisis which it hopes to mask by drowning you in evocative symbolism.

Voyeurism, like it or not, is a human characteristic. Modern day reality television simultaneously proves both this point alone and [...]

Weekend Recap: Shrek tops unmemorable Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend favored families at the movies. Three-day weekend totals (listed below) and four-day estimates both have “Shrek Forever After” at number one for the second straight week, falling only 38 percent from a mildly disappointing opening. “Sex and the City 2” and “Prince of Persia” finished neck and neck, with “Sex” getting the [...]
